More than 700 students who had appeared for CET and Under GraduateEntrance Test (UGET) conducted by Consortium of Medical, Engineering and DentalColleges Karnataka (COMED-K) now stand a chance to choose the best course fromthe top engineering colleges without having to spend exorbitant tuition fee. Uma Shankar, a parent, whose ward had appeared for CET andCOMEDK entrance test, said: “It is a great news that the (CET) results would beannounced earlier. My daughter would now be able to choose the best BE coursefrom top engineering college especially from the government seats in privatecolleges.” Umesh pointed out, “August 23 is the last date to surrender the BEseats to COMED-K. With the CET results to be announced on Thursday, a decisionwould be taken at the earliest about the BE course and the COMED K seat wouldbe surrendered without having to forfeit the entire tuition fee.”

Another parent, Shalini Kumar, said: “It is a great reliefto know that KEA would announce the results first. If satisfied with theallotment of a government seat, we would not have to shell out a lakh rupeesfor the Engineering course via COMED-K.”

Meanwhile, KEA Public Relation Officer said that the resultsannouncement process has already been initiated.

“The online options entry process was completed on Wednesdayand the seat allotment list of the casual vacancy round has been initiated,” hesaid.
