The much-hyped Yoga Dasara programme turned out to be a damp squib with only 120 students  attending it on Monday.

Minister S A Ramdas had plans to ensure punctuality and concentration among students through Yoga Dasara programme.

The event, which was scheduled to start at 9.30 am, started at 11 am. There was a lot of confusion among the committee members as none of the chief guests, including Ramdas, turned up.

Members of Yoga Dasara sub-committee, who expected a good response to the event,  organised a programme at Jayamma Govindegowda Function Hall which has a seating capacity of 1,000. But, only 120  students attended the programme.  Vachananda Swami of Swasa Mutt, Bangalore, inaugurated the programme. He explained to the students how to develop concentration and maintain good health through yoga.

Dr K Raghavendra Pai delivered a talk while B Dhanyakumar explained the benefits of Surya Namasakar to students. P N Ganesh Kumar and troupe performed yoga-based dance dramas. Later, yoga for pourakarmikas was held.
