Opposition members in the state Legislative Council boycotted the House on Thursday following absence of some ministers.

As soon as the House assembled Chairman D H Shankarmurthy took up the call attention moved by some members. However, the ministers concerned were not at the House. IT/BT Minister S R Patil volunteered to answer on behalf of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister H K Patil and Wakf and Municipal Administration Quamrul Islam but it was rejected by the members. The BJP and JD(S) members staged a walkout. The Chairman adjourned the House for 15 minutes. Patil apologised to the House for his absence in the Council and said he was attending a floor leaders’ meeting.
