Former chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda fumed at Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Veerappa Moily for making vague charges about the alleged import lobbies working against cutting down import of petroleum products.
Gowda, who is also the Opposition leader in the Legislative Council, told reporters here on Monday, “Moily is not only misleading the public on the import of oil, but also practising blackmail politics.”
Maintaining that there is no need to take serious note of Moily’s remark, the BJP leader said, by such casual remarks on the alleged intimidation of the oil import lobby the Union Minister is trying to cast a shadow on the integrity of his predecessors in the Ministry.
Referring to the new government’s decision to review all the major schemes which were initiated during the BJP government, he said: “It will not augur well for any new government.”
Opining that Siddaramaiah is being targeted by his own partymen, Gowda said it was evident when senior party leader and MLCs had suggested the party supremo to constitute an expert committee to advise the CM and avoid any unilateral decisions.
