Election officials, in two separate incidents, raided a hotel and choultry and recovered model ballot papers, shirts, rice bags and sarees.
The officials raided one of the rooms where KJP candidate Ka Pu Siddalingaswamy’s supporter was staying. The officers refused to allow the media inside the hotel even as the raid went on for nearly two hours. Sources said model ballot papers of the candidates were seized from the room.Some Congress workers grew suspicious and even tried to block the car in which one person was being taken for questioning. Election officials also seized a van carrying shirts, sarees and watches with photos of Congress candidate M K Somashekar on the covers. The BJP workers gathered in large numbers and urged the polling officers to raid Chikkamma Niketana choultry, which is owned by the candidate.
