The district recorded 43.2 degree Celsius — the highest temperature in the state — for this year so far on Sunday, according to the weather summary provided by the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) on Monday.
Sources in the IMD, Bangalore, told Express that the highest temperature in the district was 46.1 degree Celsius recorded on May 14, 2010.
On Monday, Gulbarga recorded the maximum temperature of 42.8 degree Celsius and minimum of 28.2 degree Celsius.
According to reports on IMD, officials expect no significant change in temperature across the state in the next two days. The IMD summary said that rain occurred at isolated places over south interior part of the state. Mainly dry weather prevailed over coastal Karnataka and north interior Karnataka. Begur of Chamarajanagar recorded rainfall of 5 cm while Balehonnur of Chikmagalur district recorded 4 cm in the past 24 hours.
According to forecast, Bangalore will witness generally cloudy sky.
Rain or thundershower will occur in some areas. Bangalore recorded a maximum temperature of 34.4 on Monday.
