BANGALORE: Bangalore MPs DV Sadananda Gowda, HN Ananth Kumar and PC Mohan, MLAs Aravind Limbavali, S Muniraju, B N Vijaykumar, R Ashok and City BJP President Subbanna, along with BJP leader V Somanna, on Saturday held several rounds of discussion at the BJP office in Malleswaram on the potential candidate for the next mayor.
Subbanna said all the MLAs were pitching for the mayoral candidate to be from their respective assembly segments. The MLAs want to have a clear edge during coming elections and they feel that having the mayor from their segment may raise people’s confidence during elections.
“We are looking at a candidate who is good in all aspects, can take the party along, has a clear vision for the city and should take every one along with him in administration. So far, no names have been discussed,” said Subbanna.
He also said the meeting analysed the four years of BJP administration in the city and issues like garbage were discussed. “Some more corporators and MLAs also need to be consulted. By September 4, we will come up with a name. Probably a fresh face,” he said.
