Meetings on SSLC Exam Pattern

GULBARGA: The Education Department is making final touches before introducing a new pattern for SSLC examinations from this year, by organising divisional-level meetings of select teachers and subject experts.

Sources told Express that it has already  been decided to introduce the pattern of 80-20 marks system for exams for SSLC from this year. The new pattern would have 80 marks towards theory in all subjects and the remaining 20 will be allotted towards attendance, internal evaluation and class work.Stress will be more on descriptive answers this time, the sources said.

To give a final touch to the proposed change in exam pattern, the department has started conducting divisional level meetings. Such meetings have already taken place in a few divisions.

The divisional level meetings of Belgaum division will be held at 11 am in Dharwad on Tuesday, in the auditorium of the Regional Science Centre situated in the premises of the Karnataka University of Dharwad.

For the Gulbarga division, it will be held at 11 am at the Deepayana Shale, Nehru Colony, near Markandeya Temple, Hospet, of Bellary district on Wednesday .

The Deputy Directors of Public Instructions  (DDPIs) coming under the jurisdiction of the Belgaum and Gulbarga divisions have been asked by the Karnataka State Secondary Examination Board (KSSEB) to send high school teachers and 12 associate teachers for 6 subjects and 2 subject inspectors, one for humanities and one for science from each district, to attend the divisional level meetings.

In the letter, all BEOs have been asked to attend the meetings to be held in their respective divisions.

Resource persons and senior officers of the SSLC Board will participate in the meeting. They will be briefed about the proposal of change in pattern in the SSLC exams, the sources said.
