This was their 14th performance after shows staged earlier in such unusual places like a river, sea, forest, caves, ravine, well, tanks, crematorium, on pendent roots etc, with the concept of ‘nature theatre.’

The show was staged at Ambehole, an upper stream of Kali river at Satoddi in Taragar village of Yellapur taluk, at a cost of more than `1 lakh under the joint auspices of MIYARDS Medini Ranga Adhyayana Kendra, Sirsi and Navodaya Yuvaka Sangha Taragar- Bigar.

The drama written and directed by theatre activist K R Prakash was staged to get registered in the Limca Book of Records. The theme was migration of rural people to the city and vice-versa when they get fed up with many issues in their living spaces.

Rural people migrate due to extinction of forest, elephant corridor, tiger path, paucity of land, neglect of villages, bad roads and no schools. However, urban people migrate due to lack of fresh air and water, crowd, tension, pollution, risk to life, high cost, lack of serenity, commercial attitude and the like.

More than 800 people witnessed the show. As many as 34 amateur artistes performed, including Gayatri Gaonkar, K R Prakash, Vinayashree Gaonkar, Narayan Komar, Narasimha Komar, Chaitra Komar Mahesh Komar and others in lead characters. Satish Unchalli was the designer, music was rendered by Shrinivas Bhagwat and Chandru Udupi was the makeup man.

K R Prakash said that the selection of unusual places every year was mainly to venture into new possibilities and to give a picnic-like experience to the artistes and audience.
