BANGALORE: Revenue Minister V Srinivasa Prasad informed the Council on Monday that the government was consulting the Law Department on initiating action against Chamarajanagar DC Savithri. Replying to G Madhusudhan of the BJP, he said the DC, exercising her powers under Sec 49 (B) of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, had cancelled the orders of the assistant commissioner who had rejected transfer of land. He said when the issue came to light, the government directed the Regional Commissioner of Mysore to conduct a probe following which he visited the spot and submitted a report. Prasad said the government was consulting the advocate general over filing a writ petition in the High Court and if there is a need for a departmental probe against the DC.
