HUBLI: Over 1,500 children from various schools formed a 700 metre-long human train in an attempt to enter the Limca Book of Records here on Saturday.
Holding each others at the back like train bogies, they attempted for the record on the newly-laid four-lane road near the Hubli Airport. The event was organised by the city-based Chuk Bhuk Company. Students in the age group of 6 to 12 years from about 12 schools in the city took part.
Limca Book editor-in-chief Vijay Ghosh and chartered accountant Vijay Chekki recorded the event to consider for the record. Chuk Bhuk founder Arun Chikkop said since more number of students participated than expected, he was confident of making a new record.
“We have organised this event to show the world that Hubli is not behind in attempting for national record breaking events,” he added.
The children were given breakfast and water during the event.
