BENGALURU: The Kadugodi police are on the lookout for Sridevi, a bar dancer and former resident of Kasturi Nagar in connection with the murder of three people between 2006 and 2007.

The move comes a few months after the arrest of one of the accused in the three murders — Sheikh Vasuddin.

Police had arrested Sheikh Vasuddin alias Vasu (40) in December 2014. He was part of a gang of five who were involved in the murders.

The first murder was that of Sridevi’s husband Chittiraju. Sridevi wanted to kill him over a family dispute and roped in Sheikh Vasuddin, Sheikh Subhan, Surendra Singh and Bangararaju (Chittiraju’s uncle).

After killing him, they disposed of the body near a lake in Vekatagiri Kota in Bengaluru Rural district.

Less than a year later, Sheikh Vasuddin’s father eloped with a girl. Infuriated and humiliated, Vasuddin went after the person who helped his father, a close friend identified as Sambhashiva Rao.

The five kidnap him, take him to Andhra Pradesh and after killing him, dump his body in a well in Puttaparthi.

While in Puttaparthi, Surendra Singh began blackmailing the other four.

He demanded money from them saying if they did not pay up, he would go to the police regarding the two murders.

The trio pacified him and told him that the payment will be made when they returned to Bengaluru.

However, when they reached the city, they assaulted and killed him as well. His body was disposed of in Dommasandra under Kadugodi police limits.

Based on information given by Vasuddin, Kadugodi police traced Sheikh Subhan to a jail in Andhra Pradesh.

During questioning, the two revealed all details of the three murders.

Police found out that Bangararaju died of some illness recently.
