MYSURU: Four people, including the wife and her paramour, have been arrested in connection with the murder of a man in the city.
The arrested have been identified as Sudha (wife of the deceased), her daughter Pooja, Sudha’s paramour Vinay alias Kotthi and lorry driver Ashok of Salekoppal near Saligrama.
The deceased, M N Nagendraswamy (55), was a native of T Narasipur and was residing at Alanahalli in the city.
On June 27, Nagendraswamy was proceeding to Mysuru from T Narasipur on his bike when a lorry ran over him killing him on the spot near Nadanahalli. Siddarthanagar traffic police station Inspector Ravindra had registered a case of accident. After a few days, the police got video footages of Nagendraswamy’s wife in a compromising position with a man which ultimately helped the police find out the secret behind Nagendraswamy’s death. It turned out to be a supari killing.
DCP H T Shekar then ordered Siddarthanagar Traffic Inspector Ravindra to investigate the case. Ravindra, who collected the phone call details, interrogated lorry driver Ashok during which the murder came to light.
Nagendraswamy, who was running a photocopy and stationery shop at Vidyodaya College Circle in T Narasipur was earlier residing there along with his wife and daughter. It is said that Sudha had an illicit relationship with Vinay, son of a paddy merchant. Sudha was warned by her husband to keep away from Vinay.
Meanwhile, Vinay who had captured footages of himself with Sudha in a compromising position on his mobile phone, had given his phone for repair at a shop in T Narasipur and on June 20, the footages began to circulate in the town. Nagendraswamy, unable to bear the insult, shifted to Mysuru along with his wife and daughter and stayed in a rented house at Alanahalli.
Following the circulation of footages, Sudha had lodged a complaint against Vinay with T Narasipur Police. Vinay, who went absconding for a couple of days, was later nabbed by the Police.
Meanwhile, Vinay, who secured bail, met Sudha in Mysuru and continued his relationship with her. Nagendraswamy, who came to know that his wife was still meeting Vinay, objected to their relationship and had advised her to stop meeting him. Meanwhile, Sudha had informed Vinay about her husband’s advice to her against meeting him.
According to the police, Sudha and Vinay then hatched a plot to eliminate Nagendraswamy and lured lorry driver Ashok with a cash of `6 lakh to eliminate Nagendraswamy using the lorry of a person in Gundlupet, which Vinay was bringing to transport paddy.
Ashok, after receiving supari, ran the lorry over Nagendraswamy on June 27, killing him on the spot and went absconding, the police said.
