Foundation Stone to be Laid For Chamarajanagar Industrial Layout

BENGALURU: Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) is all set to develop an industrial layout in the backward Chamarajanagar District.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will lay the foundation stone for the layout on June 23. KIADB has identified 1,595 acres near Badanaguppe and Kellamballi villages in Chamarajanagar taluk, of which 1,200 acres belong to individuals and 394.2 acres to the state government.

“The KIADB has acquired 1,057 acres and 25 guntas by paying Rs 20 lakh as compensation per acre of land. The remaining land will be acquired very soon,” Chamarajanagar District In-charge Minister H S Mahadev Prasad told reporters here on Thursday.

KIADB has started civil work on the layout, which is to come up at cost of Rs 125 crore. About 25 mld of water will be supplied to the layout from the Kabini River.

The minister said that in order to encourage industries to set up shop in the layout, KIADB would be giving land on concessional prices.

“Those who come first will get land at Rs 39.5 lakh per acre,” he added.

Jungle Lodges  and Resorts: The government-owned Jungle Lodges and Resorts will construct a resort near Hogenakkal to cater to the needs of tourists.

“The facility is coming up in 10 acres at a cost of Rs 6 crore,” the minister said, adding that it would have an exclusive massage centre.
