All the bodies were handed over to their family members after autopsy. Though search operations were conducted through Sunday night with help from fire personnel, lifeguards and local divers, the authorities could not achieve much progress till morning.

The bodies of Ibrahim Pasha, Mohammed Haneef and Shaheed Kaleel were fished around 9 am, the body of Mohammed Suheb was spotted after 10 am.

The bodies were sent to Hassan along with the family members of the victims. Health Minister U T Khader and Police Commissioner M Chandra Sekhar oversaw the search operations. The incident happened on Sunday when a group of six tourists from Hassan district stepped into the sea after visiting the historical Sayyid Madani Darga in Ullal. Kaleel was caught in a wave and screamed for help. In a bid to rescue him, Haneef, Suheb, Pasha too were swept away.
