Gazetted probationers exam candidates win case in Karnataka tribunal

The successful candidates approached the Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal against the annulment.

BENGALURU: The Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal today directed the state government to appoint, within two months, 362 candidates who were successful in the gazetted probationers exam conducted by the Karnataka State Public Service Commission in 2011.

The state government had annulled the result of these candidates in 2014 on grounds of irregularities and malpractices in the selection process.

The successful candidates approached the Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal against the annulment.

Today's tribunal's verdict is a big victory to the candidates and a setback to the Congress government.

The tribunal also quashed the order passed by the state canceling all the appointments.
