BENGALURU: Excise Minister H Y Meti seems to be on slippery ground in the alleged sex CD scandal. RTI activist Rajashekar is all set to meet KPCC president G Parameshwara, who is also Home Minister, and Governor Vajubhai Vala on Wednesday to lodge a complaint along with the alleged CD.

The alleged CD is said to contain the video clip of Meti in a compromising position with a woman, who reportedly approached him seeking a favour.

Rajashekar, who left Ballari for Bengaluru on Tuesday evening, said he will meet Parameshwara and Vala to hand over the CD and seek action against the minister. Rajashekar, who had earlier alleged he was facing a threat to life from Meti’s supporters for handing over the CD, said he will “expose the real face of the minister.”

Rajashekar has sought police protection. According to sources, he is likely to release the CD to the media if Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Parameshwara refuse to sack Meti even after watching the alleged CD. Siddaramaiah has instructed Meti to be ready to step down if the sleaze CD is found to be real.
Victim gives new twist

On Tuesday, a Bagalkot-based woman confirmed it was she who is seen in the alleged video. Speaking to reporters in Bagalkot, she said she had earlier denied it because of a threat to her life. She blamed District Armed Reserve constable Subash, who is said to be close to Rajashekar, for the controversy. “I had to do what Subash and a group of 4-5 people forced me to,” she said. She alleged that Subash was blackmailing her and Meti. Subash forced her to malign Meti and she had to oblige as she faced a threat to her life, she claimed. She reiterated that she is a relative of Meti and has a good relationship with him.

“My life is in danger,” she repeatedly said and refused to reveal the names of the three other people. “I need some more time to reveal their names,” she said. She later complained of stomach and back pain and was admitted to a private hospital. She was later shifted to the district government hospital.

Bagalkot Superintendent of Police M N Nagaraj said the woman has not given a written complaint. She orally asked for security and it has been provided. Ballari police are yet to register an FIR for Rajashekar’s complaint against “supporters of Meti”.
