In an official order, the government has asked the parent Bangalore University to transfer `10 crore to Bengaluru Central and `15 crore to Bengaluru North University. It has also asked the parent university to complete the construction work of a PG centre at Kolar and to hand it over to North University. “BU has been asked to make use of Natural Science Block building at Central College campus for evaluation and examinations of students admitted under Bangalore University,” said a department official.
Bengaluru Central University Vice-Chancellor has raised objections to provide the Natural Science Block for evaluation and other exam-related works. “That is the only building where we can start the new departments. All the other buildings are old. I will write to the government and request for a fresh order,” said Prof Japhet.
