I don’t want minister’s compensation, I want justice: Paresh Mesta’s father

Kamalakar said Paresh was a brave kid of fishermen community, he knew swimming very well and it is unbelievable to hear that he drowned in lake. It was not a natural death, he said.

KARWAR:Kamalakar Mesta, father of Paresh Mesta, said he does not want any compensation for the death of his son but wants justice. He decided to give back the Rs 1 lakh given by District Minister R V Deshpande as compensation to him.

Speaking to reporters in Honnavar on Wednesday, Kamalakar said Paresh was a brave kid of fishermen community, he knew swimming very well and it is unbelievable to hear that he drowned in lake. It was not a natural death, he said.

“It was a murder and the police is trying to cover it up,” he said. He also accused District Minister Deshpande and IGP Hemanth Nimbalkar of giving confusing statements and said they are misleading people. “We are confused over various statements and we do not have any confidence in the police investigation. We want justice,” he said. Kamalakar also clarified that his son was not associationed with any political party, but a brave Hindu and he had a tattoo of Shiva which was disfigured by his killers.
