75,000 bikes to be part of BJP’s yatra

Over 1.6 lakh BJP workers on 75,000 bikes are set to converge in Bengaluru for the launch of ‘Parivartan Yatra’ to be flagged off by party national president Amit Shah on November 2. The bike rally in Bengaluru is being organised as a show of strength after BJP’s ‘Mangaluru Chalo’ bike rally was scuttled by the Siddaramaiah government last month.

“At least six party workers on three motorcycles from each of the 27,000 booths in southern Karnataka — which translates to about 1.60 lakh workers — will arrive at BIEC Grounds on Tumakuru Road on the outskirts of Bengaluru,” Muralidhara Rao, BJP national general secretary in-charge of party affairs in Karnataka said on Sunday after performing bhoomi pooja for erecting the pandal and stage for the rally near Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC). When it was pointed out that the BJP’s bike rally to Mangaluru failed as the Congress government imposed a ban and whether he apprehends something similar on November 2, Muralidhar Rao said, “I do not agree that the bike rally to Mangaluru failed.

It was a great success as thousands of workers participated. If the government bans bikes arriving at BIEC, BJP will assume that its event is a grand success.” Stating that the BJP is all set to “make the life of the ruling Congress difficult” by continuing to expose scams after another during the 75-day Yatra, Rao said the ‘omissions and commissions’ of the Siddaramaiah dispensation will be exposed during the Yatra.
