KAUP: Russian actress Anna Ardova could have gone to any luxury hospital in the world for treatment to relieve her mental fatigue. But the internationally acclaimed actress chose the traditional heritage Ayurveda hospital in Kaup near Udupi.

She arrived at Sai Radha Heritage, Gosval Panchakarma and Health Resort in Kaup, located around 13 kms from Udupi city in the last week of November. On Saturday, she completed her Panchakarma treatment. During a chat with Express, the actress said she feels rejuvenated and spoke highly about Yoga and Ayurveda. “Ayurveda is the best treatment method because there are no side effects,” she said.

The irony is that the actress, known for her comedic performances in films, admitted that she was too stressed. “I’m here to de-stress. I’m also a Yoga practitioner. Yoga has brought me closer to Indian culture. This is my first visit to India and I’m going back with wonderful memories,” she said.

Ardova heard about the Ayurvedic centre and immediately decided to come down here. This happened when Dr Tanmay Goswami, Medical Director, Gosval Punarnava Center, a private treatment centre in Udupi went to deliver a lecture at the Jawaharlal Nehru Culture Center in the Indian Embassy in Moscow in September this year. Ardova, who was among the audience, immediately approached him. Two months later, she landed in Udupi.

Ardova also admitted her love for Bollywood films. “I have always loved India and Bollywood. As a kid I would run to watch Hindi films because of its richness and colour. I have watched Seeta Aur Geeta (a 1972 comedy-drama) seven times and my favourite Indian film actor is Mithun Chakraborty.”
Some of Ardova’s best movies include -  Vysotsky: Thank God I’m Alive and Snow Queen.
