BALLARI: Former deputy superintendent of police Anupama Shenoy, who tendered her resignation after rebelling against the State government, has now sought sanction for prosecution against chief minister Siddaramaiah, home minister G Parameshwara, former minister P T Parameshwara Naik and five other top working and retired bureaucrats under criminal conspiracy and sedition charges.

Under section 200 of the CrPC, Shenoy has decided to directly provide evidence to the court to get charge sheet filed against the accused.

Seeking the sanction for prosecutions, she has written to the Governor Vajubhai Vala, speaker of Legislative Assembly K B Koliwad, chairman of Legislative Council D H Shankaramurthy and chief secretary to State Government Subhash Chandra Khuntia.

She has also sought the support of the people to build pressure on the constitutional authorities to grant the sanction.

Shenoy has named Huvinahadagali MLA P T Parameshwara Naik the first accused while also naming Siddaramaiah, Parameshwara, advisor to home minister M Kempaiah, retired director general and inspector general of police Om Prakash, State Election Commissioner Sreenivasachary, Ballari inspector general S Murugan and superintendent of police Chethan R as the other accused.

Proving in Court

Addressing a press conference in Ballari on Thursday, Shenoy said she is not filing a private complaint to the police station but proving all the evidence to the court to get the charge sheet filed against the accused. This is because there is a chance police tampering with the evidence, she added.

The former cop alleged that there was a criminal conspiracy behind her transfer as DySP from Kudligi, and unconstitutional steps were taken by the government to hold the ZP and TP elections in Kudligi and Sandur taluks with the liquor lobby controlling the elections.

“I studied several cases pertaining to sedition charges and hence decided to file a case under section 124(A) of IPC. The court may take judicial notice and the Constitution Bench may discuss if it amounts to sedition or not. But what I want is that the case must be filed in court. I have all audio, video and other evidence which I have already provided to the constitutional authorities,” she said.

It can be recalled that Shenoy was questioned by the CID, in connection with the HY Meti sex tape case on Wednesday.
