ALABURAGI: The BJP would solve the Mahadayi dispute once it comes to power in Karnataka, said BJP national President Amit Shah here on Monday.

Speaking at a press conference here, he said it would be difficult for anybody to solve the problem when governments of different parties rule the states having disputes. Every action would have a reaction. To end the water dispute, there should be a favorable atmosphere and it is possible only when same party rules both the states, Amit Shah said.

When his attention was drawn on the agitation in progress by the Tur growers of many districts of Hyderabad-Karnataka for putting a ceiling on procurement of Tur, Amit Shah said that it is wrong to blame union government for everything. Many states including Gujarat, Uttara Pradesh have procured food grains from their own resource and later claimed to the union government to reimburse the cost of the procurement of food grains, which they have purchased on MSP. Even some of the states have paid from their own budget and are utilising the food grains for the citizens of their states. Instead of showing finger towards union government, the Karnataka government could have procured it on its own. Instead of doing this it is just passing the buck on us, he observed.

On the demand of waving off crop loan from nationalised banks, Amit Shah said that the matter of waving off of crop loan is not so easy. He said if BJP comes to power in Karnataka, it would take steps to start Bidar Sahakari Sakkare karakhane which was closed a few months back.

On the allegation of AICC President Rahul Gandhi that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has helped PNB fraud accused Nirav Modi to escape from India, Amit Shah questioned if Rahul was taken seriously. "He simply makes allegations," he said.

Amit Shah termed Congress party as ‘3D’, Dadagiri, Dhoka and Dynasty. Many districts of the state were experiencing Dadagiri of Congress party and Congress government, another name of Congress is Dhoka and the people of Hyderabad-Karnataka were experiencing Dynasty rule since many decades with the leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge, he said.

Asked what strategy he has made to win the elections in Karnataka, Amit Shah said that strategies cannot be revealed in public. However one of the main points of his strategy is to strengthen Navashakti Kendras of BJP in the state as their shakti is their party worker. We have to strengthen our party workers, he said.

When his attention was drawn on the party leader of BJP announcing the names of the party candidates in the public functions, Amit Shah said that it is also a strategy of the party. The Parliamentary Board of the Party would select the candidates and it would take time, he said.

On the controversial statement of union minister Anantkumar Hegde on a minority community, Amit Shah said that whatever Anantkumar Hegde has said it is not the stand of BJP. When asked whether the statement of Hegde has caused damage to the party and what action the party is taking on him, Amit Shah said that the party would discuss the matter.

BJP state unit chief Yeddyurappa and leader of opposition in Legislative Council K S Eshwarappa were among who were present at the event.
