BENGALURU: With most exit polls giving the Congress an edge and a few not ruling out the possibility of a hung Assembly, several BJP leaders have disapproved of the exit polls and reiterated that the party will cross the halfway mark and form the next government.
BJP General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santhosh said, “One of the pollsters who has given the least numbers for BJP Karnataka in exit polls has 53% samples from voters below Rs 10,000 income. In that group, if demography is taken into account you can guess the reason for the least numbers.’’
Santhosh also made an observation about the Chittapur constituency in Kalaburgi district where Congress’ Priyank Kharge is fighting BJP’s Manikanta Rathod. “Altering mandate is Congress monopoly sir. Look at 65 years of ballot paper history. Before talking about the criminality of our candidate, most of which are politically manipulated, two faces that you use in every ad & who run the show in Karnataka are examples for what ..?’’ Santhosh said.
Priyank Kharge hit back at Santosh saying, "Interesting tweet. BL Santhoshji are you hell-bent on altering Chittapur Result? Also please explain to the people of Chittapur, why you gave a ticket to a criminal who steals children’s milk powder from anganwadis and rice from the poor?" This is an obvious reference to Rathod, who is facing several criminal charges. Priyank hit back asking, “By the way when will you stand for an election?’’
