Elephant calf dies of respiratory issues in Dubare 

A few people said this negligence resulted in the death of the elephant calf as the post mortem report shows that the elephant had respiratory issues, and its throat was blocked by slush.

MADIKERI: A one-and-half-year-old elephant calf that was recently rescued from the forest near Sulia died of respiratory issues at Dubare Elephant Camp in Kodagu. The calf had separated from its herd and was found wandering inside a private estate in Sulia of Dakshina Kannada district.

While forest officials conducted a search operation for the missing mother elephant, they were unsuccessful.

At Dubare, the calf was being taken care of by Mahout Kiran near his house in the camp. However, the calf never went through any medical tests during its rehabilitation.

A few people said this negligence resulted in the death of the elephant calf as the post-mortem report shows that the elephant had respiratory issues, and its throat was blocked by slush. The calf breathed it's last two days ago. The funeral of the calf was conducted at the camp.
