BENGALURU: BJP national general secretary BL Santhosh took a dig at the swearing-in ceremony of the CM-elect and deputy CM-elect, which is planned at Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Saturday, expressing concern that the event may put students appearing for the KCET-2023 exam to inconvenience.

Around one lakh people are expected to take part in the swearing-in ceremony at 12.30 pm. As there are some examination centres around the stadium, Santhosh referred to a May 6 tweet of CM-designate Siddaramaiah, where the Congress leader had taken a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi holding a roadshow in Bengaluru on May 7, the day when the NEET exam was scheduled.

“Not many days has passed after our designate CM tweeted this. Tomorrow (Saturday) is KCET exams across state and Bengaluru. What would have happened if your oath taking was deferred by a day or two so that students will not be troubled,” Santhosh asked.

Meanwhile, Shivakumar appealed to students and parents to start early and try to reach the exam centres around the venue at least one hour before the scheduled time.  “The swearing-in ceremony starts at 12.30 pm and there should be no traffic problems in the morning. But I request students and parents of centres close to the stadium to start early,” he said.
