Kanteerava Stadium to be a fortress during swearing-in ceremony of new CM, deputy CM

BENGALURU:  Kanteerava Stadium will resemble a fortress on Saturday during the swearing-in ceremony of the new chief minister and deputy chief minister. Over 1,500 police personnel, let by the city police commissioner, will be deployed at the venue. There will be traffic restrictions around the stadium from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm.    

An Additional Commissioner of Police (West), four Deputy Commissoners , 15 ACPs, 45 police inspectors, 100 police sub-inspectors along with Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) and City Armed Reserve (CAR) personnel will be deployed. One ACP will be deputed at each gate of the stadium. Two gates will be kept open for the movement of the VVIPs.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

  1.  All vehicles are prohibited from Queens Circle towards Siddalingaiah Circle. Road users can take left or right turn at Queen’s Circle and move towards Lavelle Road or Queen’s Road.
  2.  Vehicles moving from Balekundri Circle towards Queen’s Circle will be diverted towards Police Thimmaiah Circle at Patta Junction. BMTC buses and other vehicles can take a left turn at Police Thimmaiah Circle and proceed towards KR Circle.
  3.  From CTO Circle towards Queen’s Circle no vehicles will be allowed but road users can take Cubbon Road and either can go towards Anil Kumble Circle or towards Manipal Center.
  4.  Vehicles from Halsoor Gate moving towards Siddalingaiah Circle will be diverted towards Devanga Junction and Mission Road
  5.  Vehicles of dignitaries arriving for the programme can park at St Joseph’s College Ground

PARKING

  •  Vehicles can be parked at the BBMP head office, Badami House, United Mission College campus and left side of KG Road.
  •  Parking of vehicles is prohibited on RRMR Road, Kasturba Road and Mallya Hospital Road.
  •  Guests should get down from their vehicles and reach the venue through RRMR Road and Mallya Hospital Road gates. However, vehicles need to be parked at the above mentioned parking lots.

Colour coding

Entry points for visitors: 

Red Pass: Gate No 1 from Kasturba Road and Gate No 5 on RRMR Road. Vehicles can be parked on first-come first-serve basis near the indoor stadium

Green Pass: Gate No 5 on RRMR Road. No vehicles

Yellow Pass: Gate No 2 at Siddalingaiah Circle through foot. No vehicles

General Public: Those without pass can enter from Vittal Mallya (Vydehi Hospital) Road Gate No 3 and 4
