Karnataka SC leaders appeal to Congress to make veteran leader KH Muniyappa Deputy Chief Minister 

The supporters of Muniyappa in the Kolar district as well as in the newly elected Devanahalli constituency are confident that the senior leader will be accommodated suitably.

KOLAR: Scheduled Caste SC (Left) community leaders are appealing to AICC president Mallikarjuna Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, senior leaders K.C.Venugopal, and Surjewala to accommodate veteran congress leader KH Muniyappa as deputy chief minister.

Speaking to "The New Indian Express" A. Muniyappa, former chairman of Karnataka SC/ST commission said K.H.Muniyappa is the senior most leader in the community which consists of 76 lakh population across the state, in the interest of the community he should be recognized in the government considering his vast experience as he was elected from Kolar Parliament for seven times in a row and also served as union minister for twice in UPA Government.

Muniyappa said already a group of leaders reached New Delhi to submit a memorandum to the party's high command to consider their appeal they will also highlight that from the community six MLAs were elected from Karnataka on a congress ticket.

Chandrakanth Hippalgaon, Bidar block congress president and former Zilla SC Cell president said accommodating Muniyappa very suitably as deputy chief minister in the government will help the congress party to win more parliament seats in the upcoming parliament election as Muniyappa has a huge influence across districts in the state, he said.

Sources to the paper said the former union minister was in New Delhi for the past four days and returned back to Bengaluru to attend the congress legislature party meeting and on Friday morning he left for New Delhi and is in regular contact with the senior congress leaders including Meera Kumar, the former speaker of parliament and with Surjeewala, K.C.Venugopal even Sonia Gandhi is also on the soft corner on Muniyappa.

Meanwhile, the supporters of Muniyappa in the Kolar district as well as in the newly elected Devanahalli constituency are confident that the senior leader will be accommodated suitably, congress leaders and workers from Devanahalli said Muniyappa's inclusion in the ministerial berth suitably will be a boon for the development of Bengaluru Rural district.
