BENGALURU: AICC general secretary in-charge of Karnataka Randeep Singh Surjewala, KPCC president and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday blamed the BJP-led NDA government for price rise, which has burdened the people.
The BJP, which came to power promising achhe din, has been presiding over a durbar of price rise. Prime Minister Modi and other BJP leaders must introspect in this regard before seeking votes now, they said in a statement.
Stating that prices of commercial LPG have crossed Rs 2,000 per cylinder and of domestic LPG Rs 913, they termed it a loot. In just 45 days, prices were increased thrice.
On Tuesday, commercial LPG prices stood at Rs 1,958 per cylinder and on Wednesday, they touched Rs 2,000. In March alone, domestic LPG prices were hiked twice. The shortage of LPG has forced people to buy cylinders in black market, they said.
