GADAG: The 'One World One Family Mission' will set up 50-bed hospitals providing free treatment across all districts of north Karnataka, said Sadguru Shri Madhusudan Sai in Gadag on Saturday. The organisation has already established a free school in Majjigudda village of Shirahatti taluk to provide quality education to underprivileged children.

Based in Chikkaballapur and functioning under the guidance of Sai, the mission currently runs several schools and hospitals. It also operates the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Chikkaballapur district.

Students who complete their medical education from there are required to serve as seva (volunteer) doctors in the organisation’s hospitals for a certain period. Many alumni doctors continue to serve the community even after completing their degrees.

Sources said the healthcare project will be executed in phases, beginning with wellness centres in rural areas and followed by the construction of 50-bed hospitals in all districts.

Dr B N Narasimhamurthy, president of Prashanthi Bala Mandir Trust in Muddenahalli, said, “We do not charge anyone in our hospitals or health centres because we believe in the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – One World, One Family. This is the guiding philosophy of our Sadguru.”
