One held in Karnataka's Puttur Seva Kendra clash

MANGALURU: Puttur Police have registered three separate cases and arrested one person following a clash at Darbe Puttur on Friday involving allegations of assault, criminal intimidation and obstruction of police personnel in the discharge of their duties.

The altercation reportedly broke out between two groups following a dispute over documents that were damaged due to a technical fault at a Digital Seva Kendra.

In the first case, the complainant alleged that the documents were reportedly damaged due to a technical issue at Digital Seva Kendra. When she asked the shop owners to correct the documents or pay Rs 300 towards obtaining replacements, the owners, Anjana Pai and Sudarshan Pai, allegedly assaulted her and two others and threatened them.

Based on the complaint, police registered a case, arrested Sudarshan Pai, 29, and produced him before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody.

In a counter-complaint, Anjana Pai alleged that customers Fathimath Miswan, Mubashira, Mubharish and Naushad abused and assaulted her during the dispute.

Based on her complaint, police registered a case under Sections 115(2), 352, 351(2), 79 and 3(5) of the BNS, 2023.

Police have also registered a suo motu case against Naushad for allegedly obstructing police personnel from carrying out their duties during the incident. The case has been registered under Sections 126(2), 352, 115(2), 351(2) and 3(5) of the BNS, 2023.
