BENGALURU: Deputy CM and Revenue Minister Dr G Parameshwara on Tuesday released a brochure inviting applications for the Vipra Self-Employment Direct Loan Scheme of the Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board for the year 2026-27 at Vidhana Soudha.
He said the Board has been established for all-round development of the poor among the Brahmin community in the state by formulating education, skill development, self-employment and other schemes.
“Our government launched a new ‘Vipra Swa Udyoga Direct Loan’ scheme in 2025-26, providing financial assistance to the economically backward Brahmin community to take up cottage industries, small industries, hotel industry and animal husbandry,” he claimed.
Under the scheme, a minimum loan of Rs 1lakh and maximum of Rs 2lakh are given, of which 20 per cent subsidy is provided and the remaining 80 per cent of the loan amount has to be repaid in a total of 34 instalments at an interest rate of 4 per cent.
