BENGALURU: Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao directed BSPCL, the contractor of the Ejipura Flyover, to deploy additional staff and labourers to ensure completion of the project within the deadline.
At a review meeting with officials and contractors of the project, which is being executed under the Bengaluru South City Corporation, on Thursday, Rao directed officials to relocate the BESCOM Ring Main Unit located at the Madivala-side ramp site in 24 hours and remove the three trees opposite Kendriya Sadan in four days to facilitate the commencement of ramp construction work.
“The down-ramp work on the Domlur side is 70% complete. Deploy additional manpower and complete the remaining down-ramp work within 15 days. After this, the Sarjapur-side down-ramp construction should be taken up and completed within the next 15 days. The launch of four spans near the Ejipura Signal Junction commenced yesterday (Wednesday) and must be completed within two months,” the chief commissioner said. He said the agency has been instructed to expedite the construction of five portal frames and complete the main flyover project by the end of October.
Officials were directed to ensure that there are no potholes on roads adjoining the flyover construction zone. They have to repair all potholes immediately. As the monsoon season is approaching, both side drains should be thoroughly desilted to facilitate the smooth flow of rainwater. Preventive measures must also be taken to avoid waterlogging in any section of the flyover construction area during the rainy season. Instructions were also issued to ensure the proper installation and functioning of streetlights.
