PALAKKAD: The District Panchayat authorities handed over jerseys to the students who have been selected to represent the district in the 52nd State School Sports and Games meet scheduled to be held in Chalakudy.
At a function held at the District Panchayat Office here on Wednesday, District Panchayat president Subaida Ishaaq handed over the first jersey to national athlete V S Sandhya.
A total of 454 jerseys were distributed to 180 athletes, 24 wrestling participants and 250 students who have been selected for the games.
District Panchayat Education Standing Committee chairman T K Narayandas presided over the meet.
The State School Sports and Games Meet will be held at Carmel English Medium Higher Secondary School, Chalakudy, from December 12 to 17.
