THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Aligning itself once again with the CPM-led LDF, the PDP has lashed out against the UDF and the Sangh Parivar on Wednesday.
PDP working chairman Poonthura Siraj alleged in a press conference that the UDF was trying to create another Gujarat in Kerala by silently helping Sangh Parivar outfits.
Siraj heavily criticised the Muslim League and asked the Central Election Commission to cancel the recognition of that party. "Here is a party which has two registered names. It is a 100 per cent communal organisation. The CEC should cancel recognition of it,” said Siraj.
Coming down heavily on KPCC, Siraj said its president Ramesh Chennithala and RSS are Siamese twins. “The Muslims in Kerala can still walk around freely only because the LDF Government is in power. If it had been a Congress rule, the state would have been converted to another Kakkayam camp. The LDF, led by CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, offers all security to minorities,” said Siraj.
Replying to the allegations by Yuva Morcha state president K. Surendranabout the statement given by former Kozhikode City Police Commissioner Neera Rawat before the Marad inquiry commission about Abdul Nazar Madani’s Pakistan connection, Siraj said the Marad commission report doesn’t have a word on that allegation. “Moreover, a similar allegation was found baseless by a Coimbatore court while trying Madani in the bomb blast case,” he added. Siraj said Madani would be ready to dismantle the PDP if anyone can prove that PDP had any connection with extremists.
Poonthura Siraj dismissed rumours about Madani contesting Lok Sabha polls from Ponnani as baseless. “Madani himself had clarified that he would never contest a poll. His remaining life will be dedicated for humanitarian service,” said Siraj.
