ALUVA: Acharya Smruthi, the 95th birthday of the late Kalpuzha Divakaran Namboodirippad, founder Principal of Thanthra Vidya Peedham, was observed with various programmes at the Peedham in Veliyathunadu near here on Monday. Kalamandalam Gowrisankar led the Gurupaduka Sthothram recital.
The commemoration meeting, presided over by Peedham president Azhakath Sastrasarman Namboodiripad, was inaugurated by C K Ramachandran. Yogakshema Sabha state president Kuzhikkattu Kalidasa Bhattathiripad delivered the memorial speech. Peedham vicepresident Ameda Vasudevan Namboodiri and secretary Mullappally Krishnan Namboodiri spoke.
Thantric Acharyan Kalloor Madhavan Namboodirippad received the Kalpuzha Divakaran Namboodirippad memorial ‘Acharya Puraskaram’ and Vedic Scholar Uliyannoor Ashtamoorthi Namboodirippad received Vezhaparambu Parameswaran Namboodirippad memorial `Acharya Puraskaram’ at the function. Old Students Association president P Balakrishna Bhattathiripad presided over the Thanthra workshop on Pooja Thathwam. Kalady Sanskrit University Senior Lecturer K M Sangamesan presented a paper at the Workshop.
