

PALAKKAD: N N Krishnadas MP who was holed up in the Taj in Mumbai was rescued by the commandoes at 9.30 am on Thursday.
He was moved to the rest house of the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited.
N N Krishnadas told Express from Mumbai that after he managed to squee ze out through the exit door of the restaurant, he was taken to a room adjacent to the kitchen where he was kept along with the other two MPs who were part of the Parliamentary Committee for Subordinate Legislation.
Initially, the area was cleared by the commandos before they were accomodated in the room for the night. In the morning, the commandos took them out to a waiting vehicle and reported at the Azad Nagar police station before moving them to the rest house of the BPCL located at Churchgate.
He said that they were unable to leave Mumbai because two MPs of their committee, Lalmuni Prasad and Gaekwad Singh Patel, were still holed up in their respective rooms at the hotel. Both these MPs had gone to the restaurant a little earlier and returned to their rooms when the terrorists took over the hotel.
He said that his baggage, tickets and other belongings were still in the room of the hotel. He had only the dress which he was wearing with him at the moment.
Krishnadas said that he would leave the guest house and return to New Delhi once the two MPs are rescued from their rooms. The two MPs were safe, he added.
Krishnadas said that the masked men entered the restaurant while he and two other MPs were having dinner and fired indiscriminately.
They suddenly ducked beneath the table and saved their lives before going out through the exit. He said he saw the terrorist firing at two foreigners. The foreigners suffered bullet wounds on their shoulders and one foreigner died of heart attack on seeing the shooting spree.
There were five MPs and four officers in the committee. They were on a visit to different places from November 25 to December 4.
They had finished their sitting in Bhubaneswar and then arrived at Mumbai from where they were scheduled to leave for Kolkata ,Agartala, Silchar and Guwahati.
