GURUVAYUR: Thousands thronged the Sree Krishna temple here for Akshaya Tritiya darsan on Monday. Long queues were seen outside the temple from wee hours. Gold lockets weighing 2 gms, 3 gms, 5 gms and 10gms were sold out through special counters. Lockets worth nearly 35 lakh have been sold out, said administrator V Ratheesan.
The traditional kazhakom employees celebrated the Akshaya Tritiya Dinam with special Kazhchasiveli and vilakku ezhunnellippu accompanied by melam.
Balarama Jayanthi was also celebrated with special rituals and ezhunnellippu at the Nemmini Balarama temple, a kizhedam temple of Guruvayur Devaswom, on Monday.
