VARAPUZHA: Writer Rosy Thomas, 81, passed away at her house at Puthenpally in Varapuzha on Wednesday evening.

Rosy Thomas is the eldest daughter of writer, critic and social reformer the late M P Paul and wife of writer the late C J Thomas.

The funeral will be held at Puthenpally St George Church at 10 am on Friday.

She is survived by children Binoy, Beena and Paul C Thomas.

Vincent Paul is her brother.

Baby Joseph, Jossy, Lilly, Thankam, Santha and Usha are her sisters.

She has written several books, including ‘Evan Ente Priya CJ, Annie, ‘Urangunna Simham’ , ‘Malavellam,’Jalaka Kaazhcha’ and ‘American Yathrakal.’ Rosy Thomas was appointed as a teacher in St Philomina’s HS, Koonammavu, in 1961 after the death of her husband.

She had been bed-ridden for the past few months.
