

GURUVAYUR: The 10-day annual festival at the Sree Krishna temple here concluded with the grama pradikshanam ritual followed by aarattu and kodiyirakkal rituals. Temple thantri Chennas Vasudevan Namboothiripad and Chennas Satheesan Namboothiripad performed the thantric rituals.
The swarnakolam adorned with the ‘Panchaloha Vigraham’ taken out from the sanctum sanctorum was mounted on Gajaratnam Guruvayur Padmanabhan for the gramapradakshnam.
The procession was accompanied by four caparisoned tuskers and Velakali artists from the Krishnanattam troupe of the Guruvayur Devaswom.
After the aarattu at the temple pond, uchcha pooja was performed at the mandapam of Sree Bhagavathy shrine.
Later, the thidambu was mounted on elephant Nandini for 11 round of Ottapradakshanam inside the temple. After the Kodiyirakkal ritual, Athazha pooja was performed followed by the usual vilakku ezhunnellippu. The usual poojas and rituals will resume at the temple from Tuesday.
In the absence of a full fledged managing committee, Devaswom administrator V Ratheesan assisted by four deputy administrators P V Somasundaram, P A Ashok Kumar, Kunjisankaran and Vijayan Nambiar along with various sub-committees conducted the festival this year.
Lakhs of devotees had thronged the temple during the festival.
