THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The death toll in the Beemapally- Cheriyathura clashes has risen to six with one more person succumbing to injuries on Tuesday. Kani Haji, 60, died at the Government Ophthalmic Hospital here. Five persons were earlier killed in the clashes. Sources said that Kani Haji suffered bullet injuries on his right eye.
His son Mahin Kannu, had suffered bullet injury on his chest, is undergoing treatment at the Medical College Hospital. His condition is stated to be serious.
Meanwhile, Home Department sources said that Kani Haji died following a cardiac arrest.
