KOCHI: In the article headlined Wisecracks Don’t Wear Out (Zeitgeist, May 16), it was mentioned that in a Copyright case regarding the comic characters Boban and Molly, cartoonist Toms won the case against the Malayala Manorama newspaper in the Supreme Court.
However, in the Ernakulam district court the newspaper had won the case regarding Boban and Molly. But in a magnanimous gesture, Malayala Manorama Chief Editor K M Mathew returned the Copyright as well as the cartoons to Toms, thus upholding the long-standing tradition of fair play and highmindedness of the newspaper.
