KOCHI: Irrigation Design and Research Board (IDRB) chief engineer, Kerala, C N Sathi will inspect the Mullaperiyar Dam on Tuesday with the water level having risen to 135.8 ft, 0.2 feet less than its storage capacity.
The flow of water from the spillway to the Idukki dam started when the water level reached 135.6 ft. There are allegations that the scale was tampered with, leading to the flow, which should not start till the level crosses 136 ft. The water level is steady with no heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours in the catchment area.
