KOCHI: Hinting at chances of yet another tussle among the Malayalam film fraternity, the MACTA Federation has made it clear that it would check any move to deny jobs to its members. The comments by the FEFKA leaders have caused confusion among the technicians working in the film field. Speaking to newsmen in Kochi on Monday, AITUC leader Kanam Rajendran, who is also a patron of the MACTA Federation, said there were ‘fresh threats’ of job denial from certain quarters.
“According to the agreement reached after the mediation talks held with Labour Minister P K Gurudasan last year, the producers are bound to give jobs to technicians, irrespective of the trade unions they belong to, Rajendran, said.
“In their recent comments, leaders of the Film Employees Federation of Kerala(FEFKA) had given room to speculation that members of trade unions other than the FEFKA would be denied jobs. If members of the MACTA Federation are denied jobs, we will come up with strong protests,” he said.
