GURUVAYUR: The Vishu celebrations will be held at the Sree Krishna temple here on Tuesday. The `vishukkani darsan’ at the temple will begin at 2.30 am.

Melsanthi Ezhikkode Krishnadas Namboodiri will arrange the vishukkani at the Namaskara mandapam in front of the sanctum sanctorum.

The `vishu vilakku’ celebration is being organised annually at the temple by Thekkumuri Haridas of Guruvayur, who is based in London.

Special kazhchasiveli will be held at the temple in the morning and in the evening. Chenda maestro Padmasree Mattannoor Sankarankutty will lead the melam during the kazhchasiveli.

Mattannoor Sankarankutty, along with artists Sreekanth and Sreeraj, will stage triple thayambaka in the evening.

The devaswom authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the celebrations and to regulate the flow of devotees at the temple, said devaswom administrator V Ratheesan.

A police force led by Guruvayur CI S Abhilash will assist the devotees at the temple for the kani darshan from 2.30 am 3.30 am.

The normal rituals will begin at 3.30 am.
