NDF merges with PFI

The PFI’s national conference will be held in Kozhikode from February 13 to 15.

KOZHIKODE: The National Development Front has merged in the Popular Front of India, along with Manitha Neethi Pasarai of Tamil Nadu and the Karnataka Forum for Dignity. Newly elected PFI chairman E M Abdul Rahiman and former chairman E Aboobacker told reporters here on Monday that with the merger the NDF ceased to exist in the state. The decision was taken at PFI’s national general assembly held at Manjeri from January 9 to 11.

Former NDF chairman A Sayeed is the vice-chairman and O M Abdul Salam the secretary.

Sheik Dahlan Baqavi is the new treasurer.

E Aboobacker, K P Muhammad Shareef, Moideenkutty Faizi, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Mahboob Shariff Awad, Basheer Ahamed, Yasir Hassan, Moulana Usman Baig Rashadi and Anis Ahmed are the new members of the PFI national executive.

NDF, MNP and KFD will become the respective state units of the PFI. The state officebearers of the organisation will be elected later. The PFI’s national conference will be held in Kozhikode from February 13 to 15. “Activists from various parts of the country will attend the conference which hopefully will give shape to PFI’s political stand,” Rehman said.
