KOCHI: The Durgadatha Award, instituted by Thapasya Kalasahithya Vedi, will be given to poetess R Lopa. The award will be presented at a function to be held in Malappuram on May 23.
It was the jury comprising poet N K Desham, P P Sreedharanunni and Koomully Sivaraman that selected the winner. The award carries a purse of Rs 10,000, a plaque and a citation.
As part of the 32nd anniversary of Tapasya Kalasahithya Vedi, poet Akkitham will present the ‘Thapasya’, memento to Rasul Pookutty at Edappal on May 23, Thapasya state general secretary Prof P G Haridas said at a press conference in Kochi on Thursday.
