TRIPUNITHURA:  The most auspicious night of the Vrischikolsavam, Thrikketta Purappadu, of the Poornathrayeesa temple here is on Monday.

Many beautiful items, including the thazha, will add beauty to the divine procession during the Vilakku in the night.

The most attractive feature of the Vrischikolsavam is the white thazha (designed by white and pink coloured clothes with circular frills hanging from a stump with a length of around 1.5 metres.

The elegantly caparisoned elephants, the bright light of the theevettis (lighted country torches), the shining thidambu and the nettipattom, the thazha, the venchamaram and the aalavattam will give a grand look to the night show.

Thrikketta, the fourth day of the Vrischikolsavam, is considered the most auspicious day when saint Vilwamangalam Swamiyar had visited the temple.

During Thrikketta Purappadu, the golden nettippattom (caparison) will adorn the tusker carrying the golden thidambu of the presiding deity. Golden pots are being kept for offering Kaanikka. Thousands of devotees throng the temple to offer Kanikka during the Thrikketta Purappadu.

At the Oottupura Malika, Lavanya and Subbalakshmi will present the double Saxophone concert. They will be accompanied on the violin by C S Anuroop, mridangam by M R Sainath and ghatam by Kottayam Unnikrishnan.
