NEDUMBASSERY: Metropolitan Elias Mar Athanasios inaugurated the Ammathan Bhakshanam Scheme, a novel noon meal project for the students of Thuruthissery Government L P School, near here, on Friday.
The midday meal project was launched under the initiative of Fisheries Minister S Sarma for the students of standard I to XII of the government and aided schools of the Vadakkekkara Assembly constituency. Mar Athanasios has sponsored the midday meal scheme for the students of the government L P schools in Thuruthissery and Akaparambu. The metropolitan and other guests ate the meals along with the students.
Parakkadavu block panchayat president K J Issac presided over the inaugural meeting. Nedumbassery panchayat vicepresident P C Somasekharan, standing committee chairman A Thankappan, PTA president P T Francis, and A S Suresh spoke on the occasion.
