KALADY: Sringeri Sharada Peetham Matadhipathi Bharathi Theertha Mahaswamikal performed Kanakabhishekam by offering golden and silver gooseberries to the idol of Lakshmi Narayanan at the Kanakadhara Yajna Mandapam at the Sree Krishna temple, the Kuladevatha temple of Adi Sankara at Kalady on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya on Sunday.
The Swamigal was received with poornakumbham by temple melsanthi Vinod Parameswaran Namboodiri.
The Swamigal offered prayers at the temple and conducted ‘Thamboola Samarpanam’.
The Swamigal inaugurated the distribution of the offering of the Kanakabhishekam by giving a golden gooseberry to Sringeri Mutt administrator V R Gourisankar. Thousands of devotees who thronged the temple received the offering from the Sringeri Matadhipathi.
